Norsalt is a solar salt mining project covering an area of 852 acres to mine industrial-grade salt and to refine part for human consumption.

Norsalt Company Ltd. has as its major business activity the production of salt using solar technology, where gypsum is produced as by-product. Gypsum is a basic raw material for the production of cement, i.e. 96% clinker and 4% gypsum. Hitherto the nation imports gypsum for its cement factories. Therefore gypsum produced as by-product in Norsalt project will be used in the production of cement in the SAVANNA DIAMOND project in Buipe, as import substitution.

This project is in its early stage and the equity structure is ongoing.
